Eating Disorder Recovery

Day 1

We may seek to feel accomplished through losing weight, eating the right foods or doing a job perfectly but we find ourselves never quite measuring up. Our desire to be perfect collides with our human nature.

Begin the guided prayer using the audio player.

Focus

“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”  —Galations 2:20

Our only hope to experience perfection is when our identity is found in Christ. His perfect record, his accomplishments are credited to those who trust him.  Author Jerry Bridges has written, “God sees us legally as so connected with Christ that what He did, we did.” Our failings are given to him and his perfection is given to us.

Hear that again, Jesus is our perfection!

Journal

Take 2-3 minutes and journal what you imagined your day would look like if you believed today’s truth. Your accomplishments are in Christ.
