Eating Disorder Recovery

Day 14

Despite what you may have in learned in your family or your church growing up, we should not bury our emotions—even our anger with God and our doubt. These hidden things drive your eating behaviors. Let them be hidden no more.

Begin the guided prayer using the audio player.

Focus

It seems we all have anger; at others for abandoning us, at ourselves for failing to meet our expectations, at God for allowing suffering. This anger can rage like a freight-train or boil under the surface like a volcano waiting to erupt. We often don’t know what to do with our anger.

God invites us to bring our our full emotional experience. Humbly, but honestly, bring every part of yourself to God.

It makes no sense to pretend with One Who Knows All.  Those hidden, angry parts of you are loved enough for him to go to the cross.

Journal

Take 2-3 minutes and journal what you imagined your day would look like if you believed today’s truth. A good God is awaiting you.
