Our legitimate longings are things we often overlook because they seem too hard to get: People liking us, knowing that we don’t have to prove ‘it’, not being ashamed of ourselves. We all want good things we were built for.

“My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.” —Jeremiah 2:13

Isn’t it easier to get the quick fix, rather than trust that living water is available if only we stop digging on our own! Only he has the water that convinces you that you are enough.
