How do you protect yourself from harm? We all have ways we commit to so that we aren’t hurt again. Do you “put on a brave face”, “always hold it together”, “act unaffected”? What if there was a Warrior King at your back, and a Priest who knows about your plight?

“For we do not have a high priest incapable of sympathizing with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in every way just as we are, yet without sin.” —Hebrews 4:15

He gets it! It feels so natural to respond to pain by devising ways to keep safe. Sadly, we often do this at the expense of knowing how much we are bleeding, and keeping everyone away. Allow him close. Stick close to those you trust. You need it.
